It's really good to be home for winter break. Like, fracking awesome. I got a sweet camera for christmas. My uncle Butch was an avid photographer, sadly he died earlier this year, so my parents got his old camera from my aunt. It's not the newest, (it's 5 or 6 years old) but it is a really badass professional camera, (and has sentimental value.) it's a Nikon D70. It came with three lenses, a medium distance auto-focus lens, a macro lens, that can focus down to something crazy like 15mm (with some extender rings) and an awesome telephoto lens that unfortunately broke in shipping. So I haven't updated this in a long freakin' time. I've gotten deep into college. as you know, I'm majoring in sleep deprivation, so I haven't really had the chance to do any "art", but I can of course put up pictures of my sketches and models. As I assemble my portfolio this week I'm going to be sifting through all of those, as well as taking many new pictures, so when I finish the portfolio I'm going to dump all o' that on you guys. Now that that's over with.. I'm having a really good time with architecture (or possible architorture), despite the aforementioned sleep deprivation. so I've been here like a week now, and it's been a hell of a week. there was a big week of welcome thing, wich was fun. we got divided up into groups of like 15, along with some leaders (older students) since there was band camp, my group was all band, which was neat. met some really cool band peoples. There was band camp, which was pretty intense. Had 8 hours on friday, then 12 hours on saturday, then 8 hours and a game on sunday. Jeebus. And we are doing a bit of high-stepping, just for a run-on thing at the beginning of the show. but it's still annoying as hell. I'm playing alto, because unfortunately they don't march Bari here.
